2009, in pictures and words

So, what have I done in 2009?

I have a friend that inspired me with his objectives for 2010. I'll try to evaluate 2009, based on his categories:

Build & Achieve

• I've worked as a full-time employee for a great project and with a great leader and mentor - Rocs
• I've managed to receive my scolarship and I became an ERASMUS student for 4 months
• My final presentation at Groningen University was very much appreciated and I received an offer for continuing my PhD there
• I am an engineer since September 2009
• I started writing for a travelling blog, http://www.viajoa.ro/

Enjoy Life

• travelled a lot: Netherlands (all over the place), Latvia (Riga), France (Paris by HH), The Czech Republic (Prague and Decin), Italy (Rome)
• sport (swimming, skiing, snorkelling, skating) with beautiful people
• had a great international experience boys-related; lots of fun, lots of energy and lots of cultural differences were shared. I will miss that!
• friends (I discovered Scarlett, Dusko, Jelena, Sam and Iker in the Netherlands & Latvia; I re-discovered and strengthen my relationships with Irina, Ina, Cris and Vlady)
• CouchSurfing (met people, stayed on their couches, participated to events, hosted in Bucharest, had great fun)

Grow

• I learned a lot in Groningen: about GROMACS, molecular dynamics, assembler; about Dutch culture and traditions, about the Dutch language
• my self-esteem grew by travelling as a hitchhiker from Prague to Romania, by adapting with grace in a foreign environment, by recovering rather quickly from the depression of the return
• I had 5 experiences as a trainer this year and I feel that I grew from them and that my trainees grew as well
• I read a lot and I had a stronger connection with me and with my feelings.
• I learned how important is to work in a great team for NewMediaSchool with CROS. Thanks guys!

I shall be slowly moving on another domain this year... so, please stay tuned!
